Belgium: Growth of organic farming weakened in 2023.

The total ecological cultivation area remains almost the same (9,984 ha). 87% of the organic area is fully ecological, the rest is conversion area. The share of conversion area decreases from 16% to 13%. According to the 2023 agricultural census (Statbel), organic farmers now account for 2.9% of the total agricultural area.
