The first batches of young beetroots have already reached the local wholesale markets. We say "already" because although the second half of April is the typical time for the start of trade in these vegetables, this year we have had less than ideal weather conditions and the season for young vegetables is somewhat delayed.
Prices for domestic red greenhouse tomatoes fell quite dynamically in the second week of April. But firstly, this decline started at a relatively high level and secondly, it has been slowed down in recent days. This is because the deterioration in the weather has slowed down tomato vegetation.
The Polish strawberry season is getting closer and closer, although there is still some time left before the fruit is regularly traded from the ground. But, as always, it will pass quickly and, for the time being, the first fruit from greenhouses is entering the market.
The first almost full two decades have proved unfavorable for apple prices. Instead of rising, the fruit has cheapened, as the current month has seen a marked decline in export trade activity. Demand from Egypt has fallen and exports to Belarus have also dropped.
