Destatis: Producer prices in October 2023 with significant year-on-year decline

In September 2023, the year-on-year rate of change was -14.7%, which was the sharpest year-on-year decline since the survey began in 1949. According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the development is still due in particular to a base effect due to the very high price level in the previous year.
