Food waste: EU Parliament and Council agree on binding targets

On February 18, the two co-legislators reached a compromise on revising the Waste Framework Directive. According to the compromise, Member States must reduce food waste by 10% in processing and production by the end of 2030, as well as by 30% per capita in retail, restaurants, and other sectors.
