Egypt and Israel, the masters of the 'early bird' in Europe
Although imports from third countries maintain a limited weight when compared with intra-EU potato transactions, their importance continues to grow.
The latest data compiled by Eurostat indicates that Europe imported 591,000 tonnes worth 235.1 million euros; and it is the early potato segment with 56% that has the greatest weight.
