Purchasing centres and wholesale distribution, an example of competitiveness in the EU
The European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) cites purchasing alliances as an example of good practice for improving the competitiveness of retail and wholesale trade in a recently adopted opinion on 30 years of the single market. The text calls for support for purchasing alliances as a means of improving consumer welfare through their favourable effect.
"Fruit Today" magazine is a valuable source of information for the fresh produce industry. Its aim is to connect fruit producers from Southern Europe with European import and distribution channels. The articles cover the entire value chain of the fruit and vegetable trade, as well as companies operating in the industry. The magazine has a yearly print run of 5,000 copies, distributed in countries such as Spain, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Eastern Europe, Chile, and Peru. It is distributed through both direct subscriptions and free distribution at major European trade fairs.
