The virtues of Torbole broccoli
Technically, it belongs to the large Brassicaceao Cruciferae family, but in Trentino it is known as the Broccolo di Torbole. In the favourable climate of Lake Garda, between the municipalities of Torbole and Santa Massenza, this vegetable finds its natural habitat, cradled by Peler and Ora, two winds that alternate during the day, from north to south, protecting its heart and leaves from frost and ice. Available from November to March, Trentino's only winter vegetable has a rather small inflorescence, called brocola, which reaches a maximum weight of around 500 grams when ripe, enriched by long leaves
