Onion prices in Tajikistan soared
According to EastFruit analysts, the wholesale price of onions in Tajikistan continues to grow rapidly, renewing previous records. Literally in one day, wholesale prices for onions increased by 1 TJS, which is equivalent to 8 US cents or an increase of 13% during 24 hrs. Prices have already increased by 20% in the week.
As you can see in the chart below, there has never been such a level of prices for onions in Tajikistan at this time of the year. Moreover, onion prices are highest ever. Now, onion prices are 3.8 times higher than the previous record level for this time of year.
