An increasing number of women in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir are turning to floriculture as a means of livelihood. They are choosing to cultivate marigold flowers in their fields in order to achieve self-reliance. These women are being supported by the 'Mission Floriculture' scheme of the Council for Scientific Industrial Research (CSIR).
