An unexpected cold spell in late April required the staff at the Zaporizhzhia City Botanical Garden in Ukraine to heat their tropical greenhouse overnight using wood stoves in order to protect rare plants. The sudden snowfall covered blooming magnolias, cherry blossom trees, and tulips in the park, causing damage to the delicate flowers.
