Drewry's World Container Index (WCI) increased by 59% in the last four weeks. This rise was attributed to President Donald Trump's decision to "pause" import tariffs, which led to a resurgence of US-bound traffic following the initial decline in Transpacific volumes. Freight rates from Shanghai to New York also went up by 2% to $7,285 per 40ft container in the past week.
