Spain has surpassed France as the European Union's top country in terms of organic farming area.

In 2025, Spain regained its position as the leader in organic production within the EU, surpassing France which had held the top spot since 2020. As per the Infoam/FIBL report, Spain had 2,991,881 hectares of organic production in 2023, which was 316,550 hectares or 11.8% more than in 2022. France was previously the leading country in organic production within the EU.
