Apple exports from Poland 2020/2021 (until February)
The cumulative volume of apple exports in the 2020/2021 season (from July 2020 to February 2021) amounted to 412.06 thousand tonnes, and its value reached 7617.01 million PLN, according to the CSO. This means a decrease - both in terms of quantity and value - to the two previous seasons. The decrease was significant especially in quantitative terms.

Compared to the 2018/2019 season, the decrease was: 157.1 thousand tonnes, or by 27.6 per cent, and by PLN 1.1 million, or by 0.1 per cent.
 
Compared to the 2019/2020 season, the decrease was: 67.4 thousand tonnes, or 14.1 per cent, and PLN 105.3 million, or 12.2 per cent.
 
Differences to previous seasons have narrowed compared to January.
 
And how are the apple exports broken down by the following months?

In volume terms, February saw a 16.2 per cent improvement on January, and this was 6.4 per cent better than the November "peak".
 
Between February 2021 and February 2020 we see an increase of 3.6 per cent.

As for the value of apple exports in February 2021, it was 19.3 per cent higher than in December, and (as with volume) 14.3 per cent above the November 2020 peak.
 
In terms of February 2021 to February 2020, we also see an increase - by 1.2 per cent.
 
Let's now take a look at the average prices achieved by Polish apples in exports (bearing in mind that their value is slightly understated in the presented data, as apples for processing are also included).

February 2021 saw a return to the upward trend in export apple prices that lasted from October to December last year. The average price rose compared to January from 1.84 PLN/kg to 1.895 PLN/kg, i.e. by 2.7 per cent. Compared to December's average of PLN 1.86/kg, it rose by 2.0 per cent.
 
However, between February 2021 and February 2020, we see the average price falling by 2.3 per cent. On the other hand, compared to February 2019 level, we have an increase of 43.0 per cent.
