As can be seen from the graph, exports in December 2020 were down on those in November, breaking the earlier upward trend in this respect. In volume terms, it was a decline of 19.5 per cent, and in value terms a decline of 15.2 per cent.

Between December 2020 and December 2019, we also have significant declines in the level of apple exports. In volume terms, the relative change is -14.1 per cent and in value terms -15.9 per cent, which means a consolidation of the trend already outlined in November.

Let us now take a look at the average prices achieved by Polish apples on export (bearing in mind that their value is somewhat understated in the figures presented, as they also include apples for processing).

Here the data look, from the exporters' point of view, more favorable. The average price in December 2020 was 10 gr/kg higher than in November. This is an increase of 5.4 per cent. This means that the downward trend in apple export prices seen since July has been halted. The situation is slightly worse year-on-year. In November 2020, it leveled off at the same month in 2019. In December 2020, the average price was 4 groszy/kg, or 2.0 per cent lower than a year earlier. Compared to December 2018, it was 51 groszy higher or 38.1 per cent higher.
