Brussels sprouts exports from Poland in 2020 based on GUS data

The export volume of Brussels sprouts (CN category 07042000 - Fresh or chilled Brussels sprouts) in 2020 amounted to 1355 tonnes and its value reached the ceiling of PLN 9.3 million. This represents a significant year-on-year increase in exports in this category both in terms of volume and value.
In 2019, the volume of Brussels sprouts export closed at 966 tonnes and its value reached the level of 6.2 million zlotys. This means an increase in volume by 389 tonnes, or 40.3 per cent, and an increase in value by PLN 3.0 million, or 48.9 per cent.
The average price at which Brussels sprouts were exported from Poland in 2020 was 6.85 PLN/kg compared with 6.45 PLN/kg in 2019. This represents a year-on-year increase of 6.2 per cent.
The only major importer of Polish Brussels sprouts remains the Netherlands. Between 2019 and 2020, export volumes to this country increased from 911 to 1217 tonnes.
To Ukraine, which remains in second place, the volume increased from 31 to 48 tonnes.
The average price of Brussels sprouts exported to the Netherlands in 2020 was high at 7.16 PLN/kg. This compares with an average price of 4.64 PLN/kg for Ukraine.
