Carrot exports from Poland after Q3 2021

The volume of carrot exports (CN category 07061000 - Carrots and turnips, fresh or chilled) amounted to 19.4 thousand tonnes after three quarters of 2021, and its value to PLN 34.8 million. This means a year-on-year increase in terms of volume and in terms of value.

In the three quarters of 2020, exports in this category amounted to 16.3 thousand tonnes and PLN 29.0 million. This gives an increase in volume by 3.1 thousand tonnes, i.e. by 18.7 per cent, and an increase in value by PLN 5.8 million, i.e. by 20.0 per cent.

The average price of carrots exported from Poland in the three quarters of 2021 was 1.80 PLN/kg compared to 1.78 PLN/kg in the corresponding period of 2020. This means an increase of 1.1 percent year-on-year.

In the top three recipients of Polish carrots, there were no structural changes between the three quarters of 2020 and the corresponding period of 2021. Only quantitative changes.

Slovakia remained in first place, having increased its purchases of Polish carrots from 4.7 to 5.5 thousand tonnes.

The Czech Republic remained second with a relatively stable volume of 3.4 thousand tonnes.

In third place was Romania, which increased its purchases of Polish carrots from 2.4 to 2.5 thousand tonnes.

Among these countries, Romania bought the most expensive Polish carrots in the period in question - at an average of 2.0.5 PLN/kg, the Czech Republic the cheapest at 1.54 PLN/kg and Slovakia the biggest buyer at 1.59 PLN/kg.
