Cauliflower exports from Poland in 2020 based on GUS data

The volume of fresh and chilled cauliflower and broccoli exports (CN category 070410) to Poland amounted to 23.4 thousand tonnes in 2020, and its value to PLN 88.2 million. This means an increase in both the volume of exports in this category year-on-year, as well as an increase in its value.
 
In fact, exports in the category in question in 2019 amounted to 20.7 thousand tonnes and 74.1 million PLN. This means an increase in volume by 2.7 thousand tonnes, i.e. by 12.8 percent, and an increase in value by PLN 14.1 million, i.e. by 19.0 percent.
 
The average price of cauliflower and broccoli exported from Poland was 3.77 PLN/kg in 2020 compared to 3.57 PLN/kg in the same period of 2019, which means a year-on-year increase of only 5.6 per cent.
 
As for the geographical structure of cauliflower exports and its changes between 2019 and 2020, the top five involved countries in the fourth and fifth positions. There were no changes in the first three positions.
 
The Czech Republic retained first place despite a volume reduction from 4.3 to 4.2 thousand tonnes.
 
Slovakia strengthened its second position by increasing its purchases of cauliflowers and broccoli from 3.1 to 3.6 thousand tonnes.
 
Hungary remained in third place with a volume decrease from 2.6 to 2.4 thousand tonnes.
 
Romania moved up to fourth from sixth place with an increase in volume from 1.4 to 2.0 thousand tonnes.
 
Italy moved up to fifth place from eighth with an increase in purchased volume from 1.2 to 1.6 thousand tonnes.
 
Outside the top five are Austria, which moved from fourth to ninth place with a volume decrease from 1.6 to 1.2 thousand tonnes, and Ukraine, which moved from fifth to sixth place despite a volume increase from 1.4 to 1.6 thousand tonnes.
