Dessert strawberry on the Polish market - won't it get any cheaper?

This year's fruit season had quite a slip, which was due to unfavorable weather conditions in spring. However, it seems that nature has caught up with strawberries and now the dessert strawberry trading season is in a typical late June position.

This means that the peak supply of these strawberries has just ended and the volumes that come onto the market every day will become smaller and smaller. Of course, the differences are not very big yet, but they are already noticeable enough to be reflected in prices and their direction.

Sunday evening quotations brought prices at the large wholesale level of 4.50-5.50 PLN/kg. This gives an average of 5.00 PLN/kg, marginally lower than on Friday (5.25 PLN/kg), but we have to take into account the specifics of trading in such a delicate fruit. On Monday we can expect a strengthening of prices at least up to Friday's level.

The graph clearly shows that the time of the lowest prices is over and now we have to expect an increase. The question is what will be the dynamics of this trend? Much depends on the weather. If the weather is favorable in July, the period of dynamic price increases will be postponed. However, synoptists are forecasting further heat waves, which means that significant price increases for good-quality dessert strawberries may occur much earlier.
