Export of carrots from Poland after Q2 2021

The volume of carrot exports from Poland (CN category 07061000 - Carrots and turnips, fresh or chilled) amounted to 13.5 thousand tonnes in the first half of 2021, and its value to 24.0 million PLN. This means a year-on-year increase in terms of volume and value.
 
In the first half of 2020, exports in this category amounted to 12.3 thousand tonnes and PLN 22.0 million. This gives an increase in volume by 1.2 thousand tonnes, i.e. by 9.9 per cent, and an increase in value by PLN 2.0 million, i.e. by 9.1 per cent.
 
The average price of carrots exported from Poland in the first half of 2021 was 1.78 PLN/kg compared to 1.79 PLN/kg in the corresponding period of 2020. This means a decrease of 0.6 percent year-on-year.
 
In the top three buyers of Polish carrots, there were no structural changes between the first half of 2020 and the corresponding period of 2021. Only quantitative changes.
 
Slovakia remained in first place, increasing its purchases of Polish carrots from 3.5 to 4.3 thousand tonnes.
 
The Czech Republic remained in second place with an increase in the volume of deliveries from 2.7 to 2.8 thousand tonnes.
 
Romania remains in third place, also with an increase in volume from 1.8 to 1.9 thousand tonnes.
 
Among these countries, Romania bought the most expensive Polish carrots in the period in question at an average price of 2.12 PLN/kg, the Czech Republic at 1.59 PLN/kg and Slovakia the cheapest at 1.50 PLN/kg.
