Export of frozen beans from Poland in 2020 based on GUS data

The volume of frozen beans exported from Poland (CN category 07102200 - beans (Vigna spp., Phaseolus spp.) whether shelled or not (uncooked or cooked by steaming or in water), frozen) amounted to 26.3 thousand tonnes in 2020, and its value to PLN 76.8 million. This means a year-on-year decrease in both volume and value terms.

This is because in 2019, exports in this category reached 32.0 thousand tonnes and PLN 79.9 million. This gives a decrease in volume by 5.7 thousand tonnes, or 17.7 percent, and a decrease in value by PLN 3.2 million, or 3.9 percent.

The average price of frozen beans exported from Poland was 2.92 PLN/kg in 2020 compared to 2.50 PLN/kg in 2019. This represents a year-on-year increase of 16.8 per cent.

In terms of changes in the geographical structure between 2019 and 2020, it is first of all important to note the change in the leader of the ranking of Polish bean buyers.

Germany has risen to first place from second by increasing its purchase volume from 3.94 to 3.95 thousand tonnes.

Romania has risen from third to second place, although here the volume decreased from 3.86 to 3.76 thousand tonnes.

The USA came third from fourth with an increase in volume from 3.3 to 3.6 thousand tonnes.

Belarus dropped from first place to fourth, reducing its purchases of Polish frozen beans from 9.3 to 3.6 thousand tonnes.

The Czech Republic remained in fifth place, increasing its volume from 2.4 to 2.7 thousand tonnes.

Ukraine remained in sixth place, increasing its volume from 2.0 to 2.5 thousand tonnes.

Among these largest customers, frozen beans from Poland were exported in 2020 to Belarus at an average price of 2.17 PLN/kg, and the most expensive to Romania at an average price of 3.29 PLN/kg. The largest recipient, Germany, bought it at an average of 2.97 PLN/kg.
