Export of frozen mixed vegetables at the end of Q2 2021

Blends are one of the most important items in the palette of Polish frozen vegetables. Next to such items as beans, peas and spinach. In the first half of 2021, Polish frozen mixed vegetables went to 49 countries around the world, of which 9 countries had volumes greater than one thousand tonnes. How did these exports develop?

The volume of Polish exports of frozen mixed vegetables (CN category 07109000 - Mixed vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water), frozen) was 29.6 thousand tonnes in the first half of 2021, and its value was 136.5 thousand tonnes. This means that these exports have increased year-on-year both in terms of volume and value.

In the first half of 2020, 27.2 thousand tonnes of vegetables from this category were exported from Poland for PLN 119.0 million. This means an increase in volume by 2.4 thousand tonnes, or by 8.7 per cent, and an increase in value by PLN 17.5 million, or by 14.7 per cent.

The average price of frozen mixed vegetables exported from Poland in the first half of 2021 was 4.61 PLN/kg compared to 4.37 PLN/kg in the same period of 2020, which means a year-on-year increase of 5.58 per cent.

In the first half of 2021, the U.S. topped the ranking of Polish consumers of frozen mixed vegetables, rising from fifth place and increasing its volume from 2.2 thousand tonnes to 4.0 thousand tonnes compared to the same period of 2020.

Romania dropped to second place from first, with exports shrinking from 3.3 to 2.9 thousand tonnes.

Germany has risen to third from fourth place by increasing its purchased volume from 2.2 to 2.9 thousand tonnes.

Ukraine has risen from sixth to fourth place, increasing its volume from 2.0 to 2.5 thousand tonnes.

Belarus has dropped from third to fifth place, even though exports to this country have increased from 2.3 to 2.4 thousand tonnes.

The Czech Republic has dropped out of the top five, falling from second to sixth place and with a volume reduction from 2.5 to 2.1 thousand tonnes.

The highest average price among the above-mentioned countries was recorded for mixed vegetables exported to Germany at 6.80 PLN/kg and the lowest for those sold to the USA at 2.82 PLN/kg.
