Export of peaches and nectarines from Poland in 2020 based on GUS data

The volume of peaches and nectarines exported from Poland (CN category 080930 - Peaches, including nectarines, fresh) amounted to 12.4 thousand tonnes in 2020 and its value amounted to PLN 40.5 million. This means a significant decrease in exports in this category, both in terms of quantity and value.
 
Exports of peaches and nectarines in 2019 amounted to 28.2 thousand tonnes and PLN 57.7 million. This represents a decrease in volume by 15.8 thousand tonnes, or 56.0 per cent, and an increase in value by PLN 17.2 million, or 29.8 per cent.
 
The average price of peaches exported from Poland in 2020 was 3.10 PLN/kg compared to 1.74 PLN/kg in 2019, which means an increase of as much as 78.2 percent year-on-year.
 
The average price of nectarines exported from Poland in 2020 amounted to 3.96 PLN/kg compared to 2.97 PLN/kg in 2019, up by as much as 33.3 per cent year-on-year.
 
As for the geographical structure in the export of Polish peaches and nectarines, our country has two-three major buyers of these fruits.
 
For peaches:
 
Belarus remains in first place despite a large volume reduction - from 13.3 to 5.6 thousand tonnes.
 
Ukraine remains in second place with a significant reduction in volume from 4.9 to 2.7 thousand tonnes.
 
In third place is Russia, where peach exports have increased from just 49 tonnes to 1.3 thousand tonnes.
 
For nectarines:
 
Ukraine remains in first place with a decrease in volume from 5.3 to 1.6 thousand tonnes.
 
Belarus remains in second place with a reduction in volume from 2.4 to 0.6 thousand tonnes.
 
In third place is Russia, where exports have increased from just 10 tonnes to 94 tonnes.
 
As for peaches, the highest average price among the top three suppliers was recorded for peaches exported to Russia at 5.40 PLN/kg, to Ukraine at 3.84 PLN/kg and to Belarus at 2.16 PLN/kg.
 
As for nectarines, the highest average price among the top three suppliers was recorded for those exported to Russia - 4.69 zł/kg, to Belarus 3.76 zł/kg, to Ukraine 3.82 zł/kg.
