First domestic peaches and nectarines on the Polish Market

2021-07-20 11:53
The harvest season for domestic peaches is starting this year with a delay, as is the case for the vast majority of fruits. This is due to the cold spring and the delay it caused in the vegetation of plants.

However, last week domestic peaches finally appeared on the market. For the time being, of course, in limited quantities in the small wholesale trade. Their prices are at 6.00 PLN/kg. This is quite a high price, as for the end of the second decade of July. For comparison, a year ago it was 3.00-5.00 PLN/kg. Imported peaches, which are priced at 3.50-4.50 zlotys per kilo in the larger wholesalers, have recently become a little cheaper. A year ago their prices were at a similar level.

Domestic apricots are also available on the market and their prices in the small wholesale are also at 6.00 PLN/kg. A year ago, they were offered at 3.00-6.00 PLN/kg. Imported apricots have also recently decreased, as have peaches. On a larger scale, imported apricots are being offered at 4.00-6.00 PLN/kg, while a year ago it was 7.00-8.00 PLN/kg on average.

When it comes to nectarines, imports are still indivisible. Imported nectarines are currently priced at 5.00-6.00 PLN per kilogram. A year ago the average price was 4.50 PLNper kg.
