Frozen strawberries export from Poland after Q2 2021

The export volume of frozen strawberries from Poland (CN category 081110 - Strawberries and strawberries uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen, whether or not containing added sugar or other sweeteners) amounted to 42.1 thousand tonnes in the first half of 2021, and its value to PLN 277.2 million. This represents a large year-on-year decrease.

In the first half of 2020, exports in this category amounted to 52.3 thousand tonnes and PLN 365.3 million. This means a decrease in volume by 10.2 thousand tonnes, i.e. by 19.5 percent, and a decrease in value by PLN 88.1 million, i.e. by 24.1 percent.

The average price of frozen strawberries exported from Poland in the first half of 2021 amounted to 6.59 PLN/kg compared to 6.99 PLN/kg in the same period of 2020, which means a year-on-year decrease of 5.7 percent.

In the ranking of the largest recipients of Polish frozen strawberries between the first half of 2020 and the same period of 2021, Germany remained in the leading position despite a large decrease in volume - from 21.7 to 14.2 thousand tonnes.

The Netherlands remained in second place, even though volumes fell from 6.4 to 4.9 thousand tonnes.

France remained in third place, also with a reduction in volume from 3.8 to 3.4 thousand tonnes.

Austria moved up to fourth from seventh place with a volume increase from 2.0 to 3.0 thousand tonnes.

Belgium remained in fifth place with an increase in volume from 2.7 to 3.0 thousand tonnes.

Out of the top five, Sweden has dropped from fourth to sixth with a reduction in deliveries from 3.1 to 2.5 thousand tonnes.

As far as average prices for frozen strawberries exported from Poland in the first half of 2021 are concerned, the highest average price among the five largest importers was paid by France at 6.80 PLN/kg and the lowest by Austria at 4.61 PLN/kg. The largest buyer, Germany, paid an average of 6.38 PLN/kg.
