Import of Brussels sprouts to Poland in 2020 based on GUS data

The import volume of Brussels sprouts to Poland (CN category 07042000 - Fresh or chilled Brussels sprouts) in 2020 amounted to 2407 tonnes, and its value reached 7.0 million PLN. This is a significant increase compared to the level of imports in 2019.
In 2019, 1080 tonnes of Brussels sprouts were imported to Poland, for PLN 3.4 million. This represents a year-on-year increase in volume by 1,327 tonnes, or 122.8 per cent, and an increase in value by PLN 3.6 million, or 106.4 per cent.
The average price of Brussels sprouts imported to Poland in 2020 was 2.91 PLN/kg compared to 3.15 PLN/kg in 2019. This means a decrease in this price by 7.6 per cent year-on-year.
When it comes to the geographical structure of Brussels sprouts imports to Poland, the Netherlands remains the main supplier, in fact the only significant one.
Imports from the Netherlands increased between 2019 and 2020 from 1066 to 2347 tonnes (97.5 per cent of all Polish imports of this vegetable).
The UK came second in 2020, but only 28 tonnes of Brussels sprouts were imported from the UK.
The average price of Brussels sprouts imported in 2020 from the Netherlands was 2.92 PLN/kg.
