More for cauliflowers in Poland

The wholesale market for cauliflowers in Poland continues the price swing typical of this vegetable. The first half of June saw a general fall in wholesale cauliflower prices generated by a high supply of these vegetables, while July first brought a weaker upward rebound, followed by a second, stronger one which is still ongoing.

The recent increase in cauliflower prices in Poland is quite long for this vegetable, as it started at the beginning of the second half of July. At that time, good quality cauliflowers in particular were on the rise, as the hot weather made it difficult to source these. In recent days, the price rise has spread to the entire range. Currently, wholesale prices of cauliflowers ("at the ready") are mostly at 3.00-4.50 PLN/piece and on average this is 63% more expensive than in mid-July.

As the chart shows, wholesale cauliflower prices are currently among the highest in recent years. However, they are not at record highs. More expensive at the end of the first week of August was even a year ago (by 15 percent). It was more expensive in the 2019 season (also by 15 per cent).
