Potato Prices Stable Amid Rising Domestic Supply, Early July 2026

2026-07-03 14:10

Polish potato supply has increased in early July as the new harvest progresses, while wholesale prices remain stable and demand is typical for the season.

On the Polish wholesale market in early July 2026, potato trade is characterized by a stable price environment, with domestic supply rising as harvest activity accelerates. The influx of new crop potatoes from key production regions is meeting regular buyer demand, ensuring smooth availability at markets including Bronisze and other regional hubs.

Farm-gate and wholesale prices for Polish potatoes are holding steady as of the beginning of July. Transactions for early potatoes are commonly reported in the range of €0.19–0.23/kg (0.8–1.0 PLN/kg) at wholesale, depending on quality, variety, and region. These price levels reflect both the seasonal increase in domestic supply and the current balance between growers and buyers.

The 2026 harvest is progressing under generally favourable weather conditions following the recent end of a heatwave, which had temporarily limited fieldwork and slowed the pace of lifting and deliveries. With the return of cooler temperatures, grower activity has intensified, and more fresh potatoes are reaching the market, supporting consistent trade volumes.

Demand from buyers—including retailers, processors, and exporters—remains typical for early July, with no indications of significant surges or shortages. There are no major disruptions reported in the supply chain, and Polish potatoes continue to be available for both domestic consumption and export, although export volumes are not detailed in current reports.

The Polish potato sector is currently not reporting significant competition from imports, as the domestic harvest is now the main source of supply. Weather conditions in June and early July have been conducive to good yields, supporting steady market flows.
