Why Fresh Market is not a regular trade show

2026-04-11 15:38

Fresh Market 2026 is not an exhibition of booths, samples and leaflets. It is one day — September 24 at MCC Mazurkas in Warsaw — during which buyers, producers, distributors and retail chains from the fresh food segment actually sit down and talk business. On the eve of the 20th edition, the biggest retail chains and the largest distributors in the category have already confirmed their participation. If you only know Fresh Market by name, this text is for you.

This is a business meeting, not an exposition

Most trade shows are built around the booth: you rent a few square metres, put up a banner, hand out samples and hope the right person will walk by. Fresh Market is built differently. The whole event is designed around one question: who needs to sit down with whom so that a real commercial decision can be made.

This is why the day is structured around conversations, meetings, presentations and the Fresh Market Award — not around aisles full of stands. You come here not to be seen, but to actually talk to the people who make purchasing decisions for retail chains and distribution networks.

On the other side of the table sit the people who actually buy

This is the part that matters most for anyone new. The biggest Polish and European retail chains and the largest distributors in the fresh category have already confirmed participation in the 20th edition. These are not marketing representatives. These are buyers and category managers — the people whose signature puts your product on the shelf.

In one day you can have more relevant business conversations than in a month of cold outreach. That is the actual value of Fresh Market, and that is why the event is deliberately kept compact and focused.

20 editions is not a statistic, it is proof

Fresh Market 2026 is the 20th edition. Events do not reach their 20th year by accident. They reach it because the people who attended the first, the fifth and the tenth edition keep coming back — and keep bringing their counterparts. For a B2B event in the fresh food segment this is the strongest possible signal: the format works, the people are right, and the return on the day invested is real.

Fresh Market Award — a prize that actually moves the market

The Fresh Market Award is more than a trophy on a shelf. It is a structured review of the best new products and solutions in the category, judged by people who actually decide about listings. For producers, a nomination alone is already a conversation opener with buyers. For retail chains and distributors, the Award is a shortlist of what is genuinely worth looking at this season.

Entries for the Fresh Market Award are open until August 17, 2026. If you have a product you believe deserves to be seen by the top of the industry, this is the moment to put it forward.

Early Bird — why it is worth registering now

Registration for Fresh Market 2026 is open. Until July 31, 2026 the Early Bird rate is €490 net per participant. After that date the standard rate applies. In practice this means two things: you lock in the lowest possible price, and — more importantly — you secure your place while the agenda of one-to-one meetings is still being built.

If you are reading this and you are a producer, a distributor or a retail chain in the fresh food category, you already know why you should be in the room on September 24. All that is left is to confirm it.
