Spanish peach prices at record lows in July 2026
Wholesale prices for yellow peaches in Aragón, Spain, in July 2026 are well below production costs, with fresh market prices not reaching €0.50/kg.
In Aragón, Spain, the 2026 yellow peach campaign is experiencing very low prices. Peaches destined for juice production are being priced by distributors at just €0.08/kg. Peaches for the canning industry are trading between €0.22 and €0.24/kg, while early yellow peaches for the fresh market are not reaching €0.50/kg. The estimated production cost for peaches and nectarines in Spain is €0.58/kg, according to the IRTA.
The significant gap between farm-gate prices and retail prices has led to concerns among producers, with some considering leaving part of the crop unharvested. The difference between origin and consumer prices for peaches in Spain is currently reported at 515%.
These low Spanish prices could increase the competitiveness of Spanish peaches in export markets, including Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries, potentially putting pressure on prices for other suppliers.
Spanish growers also report that the low prices for fresh peaches are affecting the market for both canning and juice production, as the entire sector faces downward price pressure.
In other large European supplier countries, no significant disruptions or price changes have been reported for peaches in July 2026. Spain remains a dominant exporter to the European market during this period.
