Turkish peach exports surge in value in July 2026
In July 2026, Türkiye’s Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association recorded a 64.6% year-on-year increase in peach export value, reaching $18.8 million (€17.1 million).
Türkiye’s Mediterranean Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters’ Association reported exports of 72,074 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables in July 2026, generating $92.6 million (€84.2 million) in revenue. Peaches were the top export product, accounting for $18.8 million (€17.1 million), followed by apricots and cherries. The value of peach exports from this region increased by 64.6% compared to July 2025.
The total value of Türkiye’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports in July 2026 reached $295.6 million (€268.8 million), with the Mediterranean Association contributing approximately 31.3% of this total. Strong global demand for Turkish peaches and improved product positioning contributed to the higher export values, despite export volumes remaining similar to the previous year.
European markets are among the main destinations for Turkish peaches. The significant rise in export value reflects both strong demand and higher prices for Turkish peaches in international markets. This increase in Turkish supply and competitive pricing may impact peach imports and wholesale prices in Poland and other central European markets.
Extended periods of high temperatures and drought have affected fruit harvests in several European countries, notably France, Germany, Austria, and Belgium. These weather events have led to concerns about reduced yields for summer fruits, including peaches, in western and central Europe.
According to FAO and national agricultural organizations, the combination of heat and water scarcity is expected to lower the availability of domestic peaches in key EU producing countries. This may further support demand for imported peaches, especially from Türkiye, in the coming weeks.
