Weak raspberry supply from Ukraine and Turkey impacts European trade

2026-08-17 06:37

Trading activity in raspberries from Ukraine and Turkey has declined in mid-August 2026, resulting in lower availability for European buyers.

In week 33 of 2026, the number of raspberry offers from Ukraine and Turkey on international trading platforms decreased compared to previous weeks. This reduction in seller activity has led to tighter supply for importers across Europe, including Poland.

The overall fruit and berry segment saw a decline in watermelon, melon, and plum offers, but raspberries were among the products with notably reduced presence from Ukrainian and Turkish exporters. This coincides with the seasonal winding down of summer raspberry harvests in these countries.

No concrete wholesale or export prices for raspberries were reported from Ukraine or Turkey for this period. However, market participants noted that the drop in available offers has created upward pressure on prices for buyers in the European Union. The lack of significant competition from other Eastern European suppliers, such as Serbia, further supports these price trends.

In Western Europe, especially the Netherlands, trading activity for raspberries remained stable, but exporters faced limited competition from Eastern European origins. As a result, importers in Poland and other Central European markets experienced reduced options for sourcing raspberries at competitive prices.

Weather conditions in the main Ukrainian and Turkish raspberry-producing regions were reported as stable, and no major disruptions to ongoing or future harvests were indicated for the remainder of the season.
