Frozen raspberries imports to Poland at the end of Q2 2021

The volume of frozen raspberries imported from Poland in the first half of 2021 (CN 08112031 - raspberries uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen, not containing added sugar or other sweetening matter) amounted to 8.6 thousand tonnes, and its value to 101.1 million PLN. This means a relatively small year-on-year increase in terms of volume, with a large increase in terms of value.

 

In the first half of 2020, imports in this category amounted to 7.9 thousand tonnes and PLN 74.4 million respectively. This gives an increase in volume by 0.6 thousand tonnes, i.e. by 7.6%, and an increase in value by PLN 26.7 million, i.e. by as much as 35.9%.

 

The average price of frozen raspberries imported to Poland in the first half of 2021 amounted to 11.82 PLN/kg compared to 9.36 PLN/kg in the same period of 2020, which means a year-on-year increase by 26.3 per cent.

 

Serbia moved into first place from second place by increasing the volume of deliveries from 2.8 to 3.2 thousand tonnes.

It has pushed Ukraine from the first to the second place, although deliveries from Ukraine have also increased - from 2.9 to 3.1 thousand tonnes.

Morocco moved up to third place from fifth with an increase in volume from 0.2 to 0.5 thousand tonnes.

Outside the top three was Portugal, down from third to fifth place, with volumes down from 0.5 to 0.3 thousand tonnes.

 

The most expensive frozen raspberries were imported to Poland in 2020, among the top three suppliers, from Serbia - with an average price of 12.08 PLN/kg, and the cheapest from Ukraine - 11.13 PLN/kg on average.
