Imports of pineapples to Poland after Q3 2021

The volume of pineapple imports (category 080430 - Pineapples, fresh or dried) to Poland after three quarters of 2021 amounted to 19.7 thousand tonnes, and its value reached 62.7 million PLN. This means a slight decrease in volume, with a minimal year-on-year increase in the value of imports in this category.

After three quarters of 2020, Poland imported 20.7 thousand tonnes of pineapples for PLN 62.1 million. This gives a decrease in volume by 1.0 thousand tons, or by 4.7 percent, and an increase in value by PLN 0.6 million, or by 1.0 percent.

The average price of pineapples imported to Poland in the three quarters of 2021 was 3.18 PLN/kg compared to 3.00 PLN/kg in the same period of 2020, which gives a year-on-year increase of 6.0 percent.

Costa Rica remains the number one supplier of pineapples to Poland, although the volume of deliveries from this country fell from 15.8 to 15.1 thousand tonnes in the period in question.

Germany remained in second place with a volume of 2.4 thousand tonnes.

Ecuador has risen from fourth place to third, with deliveries increasing from 0.6 to 1.7 thousand tonnes.

Colombia dropped from third to ninth place, with pineapple imports down from 1.1 thousand tonnes to just 42 tonnes.

As for the average price of pineapples imported to Poland in the three quarters of 2021, the highest average price among the three largest suppliers was for fruit from Germany - 3.60 PLN/kg, and the lowest for those from Ecuador - 2.48 PLN/kg on average. Pineapples from the largest supplier - Costa Rica had an average price of 3.04 PLN/kg.
