Polish tomato market - red tomatoes and raspberry tomatoes at similar prices

Prices for domestic red greenhouse tomatoes fell quite dynamically in the second week of April. But firstly, this decline started at a relatively high level and secondly, it has been slowed down in recent days. This is because the deterioration in the weather has slowed down tomato vegetation.

Large-volume prices for size B tomatoes are currently mostly in the range of 6.66-7.00 PLN per kilo (price quotations for red tomatoes can be found here). This means that the average price is still quite high, despite the aforementioned downward trend, as can be seen in the chart below.

Interestingly, the stopping of this downward trend has put the prices of round red tomatoes at a very similar level to those of raspberry tomatoes from domestic greenhouses. Indeed, red tomatoes are offered at 38.00-44.00 PLN per 6 kg carton, and raspberry tomatoes at 40.00-50.00 PLN per 6 kg carton.
