Polish early potatoes now dominate wholesale markets, with prices converging with imported lots from Egypt and Cyprus. Domestic supply has surged in late June, stabilizing prices and shifting buyer focus to quality and culinary use.

At the Bronisze wholesale market near Warsaw, as of late June 2026, Polish early potatoes of popular varieties such as Irga are trading at €0.47/kg (2.00 PLN/kg), while yellow-fleshed domestic varieties are priced slightly below this level, typically between €0.47–0.70/kg (2.00–3.00 PLN/kg). The price difference between Irga and yellow varieties has narrowed compared to previous weeks as domestic supply increased. Imported young potatoes from Egypt and Cyprus remain available, generally selling at €0.47–0.58/kg (2.00–2.50 PLN/kg), similar to domestic prices. Some buyers still opt for imports, particularly for potatoes with firmer texture, as domestic young potatoes are more delicate and prone to disintegration during cooking.

Last year's stored potatoes, both domestic and imported, have a marginal presence. Domestic stored potatoes (mainly light-fleshed) are offered at €0.15/kg (0.66 PLN/kg), while imported lots from the Netherlands and Belgium reach €0.22/kg (0.93 PLN/kg). These lots are now rarely seen in trade, as the market has shifted to new season produce.

The supply of Polish early potatoes has increased significantly, with harvests progressing rapidly in most regions. Producers report strong availability, especially for Irga, Arrow, and Riviera varieties. This has led to stable prices and reduced reliance on imports, though imported potatoes still fill a niche for certain culinary uses. No specific export figures for Polish early potatoes are reported for this period.

Demand at wholesale markets is robust, driven by the high availability of fresh, domestic product. Retailers and foodservice buyers are focusing on quality and suitability for different cooking methods rather than just price. Weather conditions in June have generally favored potato harvest and quality, with no major disruptions reported.
