Raspberries Cheaper on Bronisze Market as Polish Field Harvest Begins
Raspberry prices have dropped sharply on the Bronisze wholesale market near Warsaw as increased supply from both tunnel and open-field production reaches the market. First farm-gate prices for processing raspberries in the Lublin region are also significantly lower than last year.
On the Bronisze wholesale market, late June 2026, Polish raspberries from both tunnel and open-field cultivation are widely available. Wholesale prices have fallen to €4.7–5.8/kg (20–25 PLN/kg) as supply increases. The drop in price corresponds with the arrival of the first open-field raspberries, supplementing ongoing tunnel production. Buyers continue to show preference for tunnel-grown fruit, which is considered higher quality and remains in higher demand.
In the Lublin region, one of Poland’s main raspberry-producing areas, the industrial raspberry procurement season began on 20 June. Initial farm-gate prices for raspberries for freezing were set at €2.8/kg (12 PLN/kg) for extra class fruit, €2.3/kg (10 PLN/kg) for class I, and €2.1/kg (9 PLN/kg) for lower grades intended for juice. According to local producers, these starting prices are below grower expectations and lower than last season.
The overall supply of Polish raspberries is described as higher on the fresh market versus previous weeks, but total harvest forecasts remain lower than last year due to spring frosts. Frost events at the beginning of flowering in many regions caused visible damage to both tunnel and field raspberries, delaying the start of open-field harvest by around two weeks and reducing yields, especially on unprotected plantations.
Fresh market demand is steady, with buyers actively seeking high-quality tunnel-grown fruit. However, the increased availability from field harvest is putting downward pressure on prices. There is no mention of significant imports or exports of fresh raspberries in the current reports; the market is dominated by domestic production at this stage of the season.
