Red, Yellow and Green Pepper Prices Rise at Bronisze Amid Early Polish Harvest

2026-08-03 07:27

Wholesale prices for red and yellow peppers at Bronisze market reached €1.4–2.1/kg (6–9 PLN/kg) on 3 August 2026, while green peppers were quoted at €0.9–1.2/kg (4–5 PLN/kg). Polish pepper supply is entering its early harvest phase.

On 3 August 2026, the Bronisze wholesale market in Warsaw reported red and yellow pepper prices in the range of €1.4–2.1/kg (6–9 PLN/kg). Green peppers traded at €0.9–1.2/kg (4–5 PLN/kg). These prices reflect the early phase of the domestic field pepper harvest, with availability gradually increasing but still limited compared to the peak season expected later in August.

Buyer demand for domestic peppers is moderate, with import peppers still present on the market to supplement volumes. The transition to local supply is ongoing, but full-scale harvest from the main producing regions in Mazovia and Wielkopolska is anticipated within the next two weeks. Current trade is characterised by relatively high prices, typical for the start of the Polish pepper season.

Weather conditions in July and early August have included periods of high temperatures, with some regions experiencing heat exceeding 35°C. These conditions have accelerated the ripening of field peppers but may also contribute to uneven fruit sizing and colour development in early harvest lots. No major disease outbreaks have been reported in the main production areas so far.

No export shipments of Polish field peppers have been reported at this stage of the season, as most available volume is directed to the domestic fresh market. Imports from Spain and the Netherlands continue to fill supply gaps, but their share is expected to decrease as Polish harvest volumes build in the coming weeks.
