Seler prices fall on Bronisze as new harvest boosts supply

Wholesale prices for celeriac on the Bronisze market have dropped to €0.9–1.2/kg (4–5 PLN/kg) following a significant increase in supply from the new Polish harvest.

On the Bronisze wholesale market near Warsaw, celeriac (seler korzeniowy) prices on 24 July 2026 are quoted at €0.9–1.2/kg (4–5 PLN/kg). This marks a decrease from last week's peak of up to 7 PLN/kg, as reported by market representatives. The drop in price is attributed to a substantial inflow of new season produce, which has increased overall market availability.

Young celeriac (seler młody) is trading at €0.7–0.9 per piece (3–4 PLN/piece) at Bronisze, with prices for this product currently higher than at the same time last year. Washed and packed celeriac in early July was offered at €0.3–0.5/kg (1.5–2.0 PLN/kg), a level significantly below the previous two seasons, when prices averaged €0.9/kg (3.85 PLN/kg) in July 2025 and €1.0/kg (4.25 PLN/kg) in July 2024.

Despite reduced stocks from the previous season, the market is currently oversupplied due to the overlap of last year's stored celeriac and the arrival of this year's harvest. This increase in supply is reported nationwide and has contributed to the sharp decline in prices.

Demand for celeriac remains subdued, which has further pressured prices. The relatively high price for young celeriac—up to €0.9 per piece (4 PLN/piece) in wholesale—contrasts with the low prices for stored and standard celeriac, reflecting buyer preference for fresh produce at the start of the new season.

Imported celery stalks (seler naciowy) are also present on the Bronisze market, with prices at €0.8–1.0 per piece (3.5–4.5 PLN/piece) as of 24 July 2026.
