Sharp price gaps for tomatoes at Bronisze: premium raspberry types at €1.5/kg above standard
Wholesale tomato prices at the Bronisze market show a marked split between premium raspberry varieties and standard product, with top lots selling for more than twice the price of lower-quality batches.
At the Bronisze wholesale market in early July 2026, premium raspberry tomatoes command wholesale prices of about €8.8–9.7 per 6 kg carton (€1.5–1.6/kg; 38–42 PLN/carton, 6.3–7.0 PLN/kg), while standard batches are available at €3.5–4.2 per 6 kg carton (€0.6–0.7/kg; 15–18 PLN/carton, 2.5–3.0 PLN/kg). The highest retail prices for raspberry tomatoes reach €9.3–9.7 per carton (€1.6–1.7/kg; 40–42 PLN/carton, 6.7–7.0 PLN/kg). Demand remains strong for premium lots despite the substantial price gap.
Red round tomato prices also vary widely by quality, with wholesale prices at Bronisze ranging from €4.2–5.8 per 6 kg carton (€0.7–1.0/kg; 18–25 PLN/carton, 3.0–4.2 PLN/kg). The arrival of the first field-grown tomatoes—mainly from foil tunnels—has begun, with larger fruits selling at €1.4/kg (6 PLN/kg) and smaller lots at €0.9–1.2/kg (4–5 PLN/kg). However, the supply of field-grown tomatoes remains limited at this stage of the season.
Buyers are increasingly focused on taste and fruit quality, driving the price premium for top-performing raspberry types. The broader tomato supply is rising as July progresses, but not all types are dropping in price at the same rate. Premium product maintains higher price levels, while average and lower qualities see more significant price pressure.
Recent weather patterns, including a period of extreme heat followed by cooler conditions, have influenced the pace of harvest and market deliveries. After the heat eased, more fresh tomatoes began appearing in wholesale channels, supporting increased trade activity. The market currently offers both greenhouse and early field tomatoes, with volumes expected to grow further in the coming weeks.
