In the current study, plant pathologist Lindsey du Toit from Mount Vernon NWREC at WSU and former postdoctoral researcher Sanjaya Gyawali examined 68 varieties of wild spinach from the region where the plant originates - Uzbekistan and Tajikistan - and compared them with 16 cultivated varieties.
