The volume of cabbage exports (CN category 070490 - Cabbage, kohlrabi, savoy cabbage and similar edible brassicas, excluding cauliflower, broccoli and Brussels sprouts, fresh or chilled) in 2020 amounted to 53.3 thousand tonnes and its value to PLN 96.2 million. This means a year-on-year decrease in exports in this category, especially in value terms. read more

In January and February, when the cold winter weather arrived, prices for a number of domestic vegetables rose due to the ongoing decline in supply. Onions reacted relatively least at that time, but there was some upward adjustment in the selling prices at the large wholesalers in February. read more

This represents a slight increase in the volume of imports in this category in volume terms with a more pronounced increase in value terms. read more

The volume of plum exports from Poland (CN category 08094005 - Fresh plums) amounted to 8.7 thousand tonnes in 2020, and its value to PLN 29.3 million. This means a significant increase in both the volume and value of these exports. read more

The volume of fresh and chilled cauliflower and broccoli exports (CN category 070410) to Poland amounted to 23.4 thousand tonnes in 2020, and its value to PLN 88.2 million. This means an increase in both the volume of exports in this category year-on-year, as well as an increase in its value. read more

The cumulative volume of apple exports in the 2020/2021 season (from July to December 2020) amounted to 252.66 thousand tonnes, according to the Central Statistical Office (CSO), and its value reached 463.12 million PLN. This means a decrease, both in terms of quantity and value, to the two previous seasons. read more

The volume of frozen raspberry imports from Poland in 2020 (CN 08112031 - raspberries, uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water, frozen, not containing added sugar or other sweetening matter) amounted to 16.9 thousand tonnes, and its value to PLN 193.6 million. This represents a slight year-on-year increase in terms of volume, with a large increase in terms of value.

The last week of February this year brought a fall in domestic greenhouse cucumber prices. The new season for these vegetables in Polish greenhouses has only recently begun, but the very warm weather of the past few days has clearly accelerated vegetation and the supply of Polish cucumbers has increased by leaps and bounds, with prices following suit. read more

WAPA has published an updated estimate of pear stocks. As far as the European Union countries are concerned, stocks of this fruit, as of 1 February 2021, amounted to 593,365 tonnes. The vast majority of these stocks, 470,074 tonnes, are Conference pears. A month earlier, the volume of pear stocks was estimated at 756,710 tonnes. read more

Volume of potato imports (categories: CN 07019090 - Potatoes, fresh or chilled except seed potatoes, potatoes for starch production, from 1 July to 31 December, and CN 07019050 - Potatoes, fresh or chilled except seed potatoes, potatoes for starch production, young, from 1 January to 30 June) to Poland amounted to 184.1 thousand tonnes in 2020, and its value to PLN 211.3 million. read more
