Golden Delicious still in the lead in Poland

Not much has changed in the first decade of January 2021. Exports are just waking up from the Christmas break. Demand on the domestic market remains unchanged.

At the top of the price stakes is the apple variety Golden Delicious. Prices for this variety from KA (calibre 70+) are between 1.70-2.00 zł/kg. which averages out at 1.85 zł/kg, although it should be noted that we are dealing far more frequently with prices in the range of 1.70-1.80 zł/kg than those higher. 1.95-2.00 PLN/kg is a rarity.

This means that Golden prices are almost at the same level as a year ago. It will therefore be interesting to see how the situation will develop - whether according to the scenario of the 2019/2020 season, i.e. stable through the winter Or perhaps according to the scenario of the 2017/2018 season, when prices strengthened a little during the winter.

Let us add that WAPA estimated the stocks of Golden (as at the beginning of December 2020) at 973,000 tonnes (-200,000 tonnes year-on-year). In Poland, stocks of this variety were estimated at 150 thousand tonnes (+30 thousand tonnes year-on-year).
