2021-07-05 11:33
WAPA has published an updated estimate of pear stocks. For the European Union countries (plus Switzerland and Great Britain), stocks of this fruit, as of 1 June 2021, totalled 61,458 tonnes. The vast majority of these stocks, 59,790 tonnes, are Conference pears. A month earlier, the volume of pear stocks was estimated at 147,579 tonnes.

In May 2021, 86,121 tonnes disappeared from European warehouses. This means, that the stock of pears in the European Union decreased by 85,3 per cent from month to month. In April, the "disappearance" of pears amounted to 125,895. As can be seen, in May the trade of this fruit was slightly less dynamic than in March.

In the current season, there are more pears in the countries in question than a year earlier. According to WAPA data, the stock on 1.06.2020 amounted to 41,286 tonnes, so year-to-year there are 20,172 tonnes more pears. This is an increase of 48.9 per cent.

According to WAPA estimates, pear stocks in Poland were already exhausted in April this year.
