2026-08-19 06:28

Chinese cabbage remained the tightest segment of the cabbage market in Poland, with limited grower arrivals at Bronisze and the best lots priced up to about €1.0/kg on 19 August 2026. White and red cabbage stayed at much lower, stable wholesale levels.

At the Bronisze wholesale market near Warsaw on 19 August 2026, Chinese cabbage was quoted at about €0.8–1.0/kg (3.5–4.5 PLN/kg). A day earlier, the best-quality Chinese cabbage on the same market was also traded at about €0.9–1.0/kg (4.0–4.5 PLN/kg), with prices depending on the volume delivered to the market on individual days.

Supplies of Chinese cabbage at Bronisze were limited, with only a small number of producers present on the market. In wholesale warehouses, Chinese cabbage was reported at about €0.9/kg (3.70 PLN/kg) on 18 August 2026, while selected, properly prepared lots for retail sale reached about €1.0/kg (4.50 PLN/kg).

The broader cabbage segment remained more stable. White cabbage at Bronisze on 19 August 2026 was quoted at about €0.16–0.21/kg (0.7–0.9 PLN/kg), while young white cabbage sold at about €0.6–0.7/head (2.5–3.0 PLN/head). On 18 August, young white cabbage heads were reported at around €0.7/head (3 PLN/head), and bagged white cabbage at about €0.17/kg (0.75 PLN/kg). Oversized heads were described as harder to sell.

Red cabbage at Bronisze on 19 August 2026 was quoted at about €0.19–0.23/kg (0.8–1.0 PLN/kg). On 18 August, growers selling red cabbage could usually expect around €0.18/kg (0.80 PLN/kg), with no major price movement reported. Other cabbage products on 19 August included sauerkraut at about €0.9–1.3/kg (4.0–5.5 PLN/kg) and Savoy cabbage at about €0.7–0.9/kg (3.0–4.0 PLN/kg).

In the second half of August, cabbage crops in Poland were still building yield. Recent weather combined periods of high temperature with storms, rainfall and cooler conditions, creating varied conditions across vegetable plantations.
