Low Early Harvest and Farm-Gate Raspberry Prices in Lubelskie, June 2026
Initial farm-gate prices for industrial raspberries in Lubelskie in mid-June 2026 are set at €2.1/kg for second class and €2.8/kg for extra class, with limited supply and weak yields expected due to spring frost and drought.
The 2026 Polish raspberry season has started with low but stable farm-gate prices for industrial fruit. In the Opole and Kraśnik counties (Lubelskie), from mid-June, processors are offering €2.1/kg (9 PLN/kg) for second-class and €2.8/kg (12 PLN/kg) for extra-class raspberries delivered in 3-kg packaging. These prices are for the first ground-grown raspberries entering collection points, with the main harvest expected to intensify within a week.
Processors report that deliveries remain small, typically below several hundred kilograms per supplier, especially from tunnel production, which is focused on high-quality dessert fruit. Industrial raspberries from tunnels, destined for freezing as lower-grade "grys," are also being purchased at €2.1–2.3/kg (9.0–10.0 PLN/kg) in the Opole Lubelskie area, but volumes are limited and collection is logistically challenging due to dispersed supply.
Growers and experts in the Kraśnik raspberry region estimate that, following late spring frosts and drought, most plantations are in poor condition. Despite good initial fruit set, final yields are forecast at just 40–50% of full potential. This expected shortfall is influencing early-season price negotiations between growers and processors.
At the same time, the first raspberries from the earliest, warmest sites are ripening, while in many regions field-grown raspberries remain in the flowering or early fruit set stage. Tunnel-grown dessert raspberries are available, but some lots face problems with sooty moulds and quality, which can affect marketability and pricing.
Polish processors are closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine, a major competitor in the frozen raspberry market, as conflicting signals on Ukrainian harvest volumes may impact further price developments in Poland.
