The National Trust has announced that there have been higher-than-expected harvest volumes of fruit and vegetables in its historic gardens in Devon. Warmer spring temperatures, followed by a wet June, have resulted in increased yields of apples, pears, plums, squash, and pumpkins. These crops are ripening earlier than usual.
