There are over 3.1 million poor people in Italy who have received public aid to eat in soup kitchens or with the delivery of food parcels. This is the estimate made by Coldiretti based on data from the Fund for European Aid to the Destitute (Fead) in reference to ISTAT's annual report on poverty, which weighs most heavily on tables with the highest food inflation
