Apples from interruption stably

The beginning of the second half of July did not bring any significant changes in the apple purchase prices during the break. However, this does not mean that there were no changes. Everything was happening within a stable price range and a stable average price. Will this situation change in the coming weeks of the season?

Last year, we had a decrease around mid-July 2023, although it should be noted that it was a one-time correction and then the purchase prices of the industry stabilized again. However, at that time, this process took place at a much lower price level. Now the prices would have room to decrease.

Currently, the purchase prices during the break are mostly at 1.00 PLN/kg (0.23 EUR/kg). There is still very little fruit available, as there is not much to pick after this year's frost. However, there have been purchase offers at 0.90 PLN/kg (0.21 EUR/kg), so there is some pressure for a decrease being built.

But can it be effective in conditions of high demand for raw materials and low supply of industrial apples from the new crop? There is also very little old industry fruit available, with prices remaining stable at a relatively high level of 0.90-1.10 PLN/kg (0.21-0.26 EUR/kg), although there are purchase attempts at prices of 0.84-0.85 PLN/kg (0.20 EUR/kg). However, it seems that the most likely scenario at the moment is the continued stability of purchase prices.
