Fewer apples and pears than expected
The first EU apple estimates, which were released on 3 August 2023 during Prognosfruit, indicated a 3.3% decrease compared to last year, to a total of 11,410,681t. The EU pear crop for 2023 was estimated to be down 12.9% compared to last year's crop, totalling 1,745,632t.

"Fruit Today" magazine is a valuable source of information for the fresh produce industry. Its aim is to connect fruit producers from Southern Europe with European import and distribution channels. The articles cover the entire value chain of the fruit and vegetable trade, as well as companies operating in the industry.
