In 2023, the global avocado trade increased by 17 percent to 3.4 million tonnes. Although 88 percent of this trade is dominated by North America and Europe, primarily sourced from Latin American producers, the avocado trade entering Asian markets saw a 29 percent increase year-on-year in 2023, reaching 184,000 tonnes.
